Hello Claire
What Does Claire Mean? The origin is a French adjective meaning “clear,” “light,” or “bright.” The use dating back to the middle Ages. When researching what is a Claire personality?, ‘Claire is a name that indicates a gift of gab - the ability to persuade others effortlessly. Expressive, optimistic, outgoing and inspiring. Charming and cheerful, the life of the party for any social event. Claire fascinate others with your creativity’, https://myfirstname.rocks › baby-names › claire and we agree. But whats in a name?
In November, 2019 Claire delivered her pictorial speech about CHOICE @ TANKS, Cairns. Choice is an option, alternative, preference, selection, election mean the act or opportunity of choosing or the thing chosen. In Australia we are given the opportunity or privilege of choosing freely. Big or small, easy or difficult it comes back to choice.
"Wow! I am sure I have previously watched this but each time I do I am reminded of your talents as a speaker, writer, presenter. Great job Claire". 13.07.2022 Brennie B
My Story
Claire is
A motivational speaker.
A Clarity coach.
A charming and cheerful lady.
After school I became a science graduate, double majoring in Genetics and Immunology, then I spent some time in a hospital lab looking down a microscope; but that life agency did not ‘speak to me’. I shifted my energy and moved into a life of entrepreneurialism, creating multiple small businesses, in various areas. Catering, Animal Care – with a focus on Dog walking then a Hand-made greeting cards enterprise. I travelled the world multiple times, worked trouble shooting in the hospitality industry.
In 1994 I had studied a postgraduate in Community Health. I coupled this with a unit of study in Sexual Health Counselling at Sydney University. Whilst working for myself, I took the opportunity to expanded my self-awareness. I travelled to Melbourne and Sydney to attain a Diploma of Life Coaching. Through learning the Life Coaching lessons, the thing I became most aware of was that the first person I was coaching, was me! Getting to know me, who I am and what I could become, because as Brene Brown says “You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.”
In 1996 I was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis. When I was diagnosed I was told by the specialist that there was no cure, that the best they could offer me was a slow slide into a wheelchair. I decided that this was not the future I accepted. I ran! Overseas I travelled, I partied, I worked and eventually returned to Australia when I fell pregnant with my son.
Inspired by my imaginative son, I listened to my inner creative voice and moved into the arts sector. I registered Portfolio Productions in 2005 & as an Arts Worker I spent the next 14 years creating events and theatre shows whilst being a Mum, living in a small town called Port Douglas.
I do not think of myself as a person with a disability. In fact I use the terminology ably challenged because in my mind “a challenge is something I can rise up to!”. With respect to my un-wellness, I have spent the last 17 years researching and practicing forms of alternative healing (another term I don’t really like).
I have been told I have an exceptional capacity to see the big picture! Now as my physical capability is compromised, I have amalgamated all of my life skills and become a Wellness Motivational Speaker and a Clarity Coach.
In 2020 at the onset of COVID-19 and the shutdown of the world and the decimation of the arts sector in Australia I decided to re-invent one more time. I partnered with my old flatmate Anna and together we have created and produced a podcast called Our Human Experience. We interview Artists, Sports stars and regular people recording their remarkable stories of rising up!
